About Melbourne KY

Message From the Mayor

My name is Ronnie Walton. I moved to Melbourne in 1984 when I married a Melbourne girl, Darlene Purcell Walton. We raised our daughters and now we’re watching our four grandchildren grow up here also. I currently work at Campbell County schools. I volunteered for Butler Fire Department and my teens and 20s until I moved to Melbourne. I served on the Campbell County Board of Adjustments as a representative for the city of Melbourne. I resigned in 2004 to accept a position as city commissioner for Melbourne. I served from 2004 to 2010 as commissioner and was elected as mayor and served in that position from 2011 to present. I am truly dedicated to our city and have a heart to serve our community.

Darlene Walton

First became a resident of Melbourne, KY in 1970, and attended St. Philip School as well as Campbel County High School. I lived in Melbourne most of my life and then moved to California, KY for a period of time. I then moved back to Melbourne in 2001 and have been living here ever since!

I have been a member of Fire District 6 for Melbourne Fire Department for approximately 3 years and was a Melbourne VFD member in the late 70' and early 80's.

I Took an oath of office as a council person for the City of Melbourne in January of 2024 and look forward to working with fellow city council members, the mayor, and our residents to help better our city

Robert "Bobby" Heck

My name is Paul Landwehr. My wife and I moved to Melbourne from Ft. Wright, KY in 2000. I am currently retired from a System Analyst job in Cincinnati OH that I had for 14 years. I was elected a City Commissioner in 2004.

I have been involved in making improvements in the city and will continue to do so.

Karen Daley

My name is Darlene Walton. My family moved to Melbourne in 1968. Ronnie and I bought the house next to my parents when we married. We raised our two girls and are watching our four grandchildren grow up here.  After graduating from nursing school, I worked as an office nurse for Dr. Gary Seward, finishing my career by retiring after 28 years as a school nurse for Campbell County schools.

Now it’s time to serve and give back to my community. This is my second year serving on the council. I truly enjoy serving my community and hope to help our city become better every year. Melbourne is a great place to live.

Be the person that makes a difference.

Karen Daley
